I’m sitting at my desk writing this with great anticipation in my heart. June 24th – 28th, 2013, Victory Ministries Inc. will be holding the third annual FUSION SUMMER CAMP. Last year was unreal; God did so much in the hearts and lives of our young people. I continually hear testimonies of how camp changed everything in some individual’s lives.

We are excited to announce that camp will be held again at Ferum College in beautiful Ferum, Virginia. The campus is fully equipped with the following:

Indoor Pool, large gymnasium (two college – sized basketball courts), tennis courts
600 seat chapel, large open fields for sports events and games, breakout rooms,
a game room, huge dining hall with buffet, salad bar, sandwich bar, and cereal bar.
On campus is Subway, and Papa Johns.

FUSION summer camp is designed for youth going into middle school up through graduated seniors. We will have something for everyone! This week will be dedicated to bringing about a transformation in our young people. The scriptural reference or theme for camp is Romans 12:1-2 “Not conforming, but transforming.” We will be blessed to hear from leading youth and young adult leaders in this region.

This year we are going back to the basics to really create a greater foundation in our teens. Our subjects for the breakout sessions will be , Simple Devotion, Exploding your Prayer Life , and Encountering the Holy Spirit. We will also provide Q&A sessions for college age teens and leaders. Also we will have a session for youth directors and staff to learn from and connect with the guest ministers.

The cost of camp is $220.00, which includes all services, food, games, camp T-shirt, breakout sessions, and lodging. The first deposit of $100.00 is due by April 1st, at which time all registration forms must be turned in as well. The final amount of $120.00 is due by May 1st. A $5.00 per camper late charge will be assessed this year for late payment after May 1st.

We would love to answer any questions you may have. Contact me at (304) 633-1757.

Forms are available at the check in table at the gymnasium.

Its is time to shift things in our region. We are surrounded by a demonic atmosphere wherever we go. We have learned how to ignore it, to bi pass it, to avoid it at all cost. kind of the the perspective of the three monkeys; see no evil, hear no evil, touch no evil and you will not be evil yourself. This avoidance mentality has rocked us into a spiritual rest that is not Godly, it is quite demonic and strategic. The devil does not want to com at us full force, he will slowly creep in unaware until you are captured by his enticement. Well we say no more! We as a Victory Ministries family of churches are linking our youth and young adults together under the banner of FUSION to fight back. We are no longer going to set by the wayside and watch our generation be terrorized. It says in Romans 12:1 -2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

In order for us to know His will, follow His will, live in His Kingdom, and be pleasing to God, we need to offer our lives up in pursuit of Him. On February 2nd we will continue this journey with FUSION Nitro.

When: April 6th

Time: 6pm

Regeneration Youth leave the church at 4pm.

When Paul wrote to the Philippian church he spoke of pressing forward for the prize of the high calling. Though he was physically content whether rich or poor,

by Pastor Shawn Jonas

Philippians 3:14-15 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude ; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you;

Ephesians 3:19-21 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

When Paul wrote to the Philippian church he spoke of pressing forward for the prize of the high calling. Though he was physically content whether rich or poor, [Philippians 4:11] the apostle was not content with his spiritual condition, but constantly seeking a deeper, more intimate and fruitful walk with the Lord. Paul had great expectations for his own lifetime, and he accomplished tremendous things, yet if he’d known while writing his epistles that they would edify the lives of billions of people for 2000 years, I think he’d be saying to himself, “This I could never even have imagined!”

A legendary preacher, D.L. Moody said: “We honor God when we ask for great things. It is a humiliating thing to think that we are satisfied with very small results.”

Why do we honor God when we ask for great things, or expect more from Him? Simply because He is great, far greater than we can imagine, but also because we are made in His image. His greatness is glorified by what He performs through our lives. If we desire great things, it’s because we’re reflecting His awesome nature. It is in us by nature to seek more and greater things — just as Paul and D.L Moody did. We should not be ashamed of it when our motives are pure, because our Lord will be glorified all the more. Not seeking fame or fortune, but the glory of Yeshua (Jesus) crucified and risen, will be a lifetime of pressing forward, and accomplishing more than we ever could have imagined!

Allow your mind and your heart to think and to dream of great accomplishments for Yeshua. He Himself said through Paul that He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, so let’s honor God by seeking the greatest things and then watch Him fulfill more than we could ever have imagined!

Further Information on the SOAP Method of daily reading

Step 1: Find the bible reading corresponding to today’s date from the bible reading program. Turn to the chapter in your bible, asking the Holy Spirit to teach you and reveal Jesus to you. Mark off each daily reading as you complete it to keep yourself accountable.

Step 2: Read the passages. As you are reading, underline anything the Lord impresses on you as a personal word to be applied. When you read with an open heart, the Lord will give you words of encouragement, direction and correction. (2Tim 3:16)

Step 3: When God has revealed a special lesson of life to you, turn to a fresh page in your ‘Daily Pages’ to record what God has just shown you.

Enter the date.

Title the page.

Record a topic that generally describes the lesson.

Record the main scripture.

Give your observation of the scripture.

Give application as to how you will be different today because of what you have just read.

Record a prayer.

In the Greek olympic games of old, a unique race was run. The winner was not the runner who finished first — it was the runner who finished with his torch still lit!

Hebrews 12:1-2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

In the Greek olympic games of old, a unique race was run. The winner was not the runner who finished first — it was the runner who finished with his torch still lit!

There are times in our lives when we feel like we just can’t continue in the race. These are precisely the times when the enemy loves to assault us to the point of breaking and torment us saying “You’ll never make it to the finish line, you may as well just quit now”. This is the time we need to cling on to God’s promises! The Lord will soon reward our diligence for all our toiling here in this world. Paul said, “Let us not grow weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap if we do not faint”.

Let’s allow God’s wonderful promises to strengthen and comfort us in each circumstance so that we can run the race — not to finish first, but to run together, side by side — the flame of our torch reaching the finish line blazing brightly with fire for Him!

Thus far, history has been divided into two basic parts: B.C. (meaning “before christ”) and A.D. (meaning “anno domini” or “the year of our lord”).

Psalms 51:10-12 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.David is called a “man after God’s own heart.” Considering that he lusted after his neighbor’s wife, committed adultery with her, and had her husband murdered, the Lord’s description of him is remarkable. How could a man who was convicted a murderer and an adulterer also be called one after God’s own heart?

The answer is simple but profound: God did not regard David according to the actions of his sinful nature, but according to the deepest motivations and disposition of his heart and will; and these were revealed by David’s response to the conviction which Nathan the prophet brought upon him; a conviction which brought immediate total confession and repentance, and a broken and contrite heart. This response exemplified the shepherd king’s walk with God throughout the entire journey of his life .

If, after David had fallen he made excuses, rationalized, or resisted the clear message of his sinfulness it would have been a totally different story. His heart would have revealed a self-justifying, self-righteous attitude with no realization of his absolute need for God’s mercy. This would have defeated and defined him as a man after his own heart. But the immediacy and completeness of David’s confession qualified him for the Lord’s forgiveness and mercy, saving him from death and restoring him to that most treasured relationship of his life, his relationship with God.

The consequences of his sin were very serious and followed David all the days of his life. But he demonstrated the genuineness of his repentance by never railing against God for the troubles which followed him as a consequence of his sin with Batsheva. David always rose up, submitted, and humbly praised God, writing wonderful psalms and pouring out his heart before the Lord. He served God and worshiped Him all his life. So the Lord God didn’t reckon David’s life by his fall – but by his walk, and by his heart.

We all stumble in many ways, but God does not define us by our failures. It’s our love for Him and our honesty before Him that reveals a true walk of faith! So if you fell, you messed up, your sin got the best of you, then come clean. Make your confession. Accept the consequences without complaining, allow the Lord to forgive and restore you completely, and continue on your journey with Him. That was David’s heart. His example is worthy to follow. May you also be one of those that lived their life “after God’s own heart!”

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
Psalm 51:17

Over the last week we as a leadership team have been meeting in the gym and main sanctuary to pray and seek God in a deeper way. Why? I’m glad you asked. We are after a place of brokenness. A place where God can start working on our lives from a place of willingness, and surrender. Isaiahs greatest moment came from this place. In Isaiah 6 it is written:

¹ In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord seated upon the throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple.
²Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
³And one called to the other and said:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of his glory!”
4And the foundations of the threshold shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. 5And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!”
6Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he has taken with tongs from the altar. 7And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”
8And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”
Then I said, “Here am I! Send me!”

There are 4 main points to this passage: 1) God’s glory and holiness 2) Isaiah response to God’s glory 3) Isaiah’s sin taken away 4) God sending Isaiah out to proclaim the gospel.

As Isaiah as our example we can look at our lives, look at God, look back at our lives and see we are undone without Him. This is something we need to do on a daily basis as a refresher on our need for God in every area of our lives. Romans 12:1 says:

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice–the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

Find your place of worship, by giving your life wholly over to God. Find your secret place with Him and you will truly find yourself.

Have you ever climbed a mountain, or felt like you were climbing a mountain? Mountains are huge large masses of land. Not many people can say they have climbed a mountain. They are thousands of feet high and miles wide, and if you’re trying to get somewhere and there is a mountain in your way, its pretty hard to avoid. There are also mountains our lives. Some of us look at how massive the mountain is and turn back, regressing in our lives as our problems and situations get worse and worse, while others attempt to climb the mountain their selves but to no avail, falling back down, over and over as their hope and confidence grow dim. As you may have already realized you cant climb a mountain by yourself and the mountainous situations and circumstances in your life you cant climb yourself. Even with friends and family helping you, mountains are still a struggle to get over and for many still an impossibility. But God can help. In Isiah 64:1, Isiah asked God;

OH, THAT You would rend the heavens and that You would come down, that the mountains might quake and flow down at Your presence– AMP You see mountains quake and flow down at the presence of God. Your mountainous situation or circumstance will bow at the presence of the Almighty God. God rent the heavens in Acts 2 when He poured our His Holy Spirit upon all flesh. And Paul wrote in Eph. 3:20; Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, NASB

God is able to do more abundantly beyond anything we could ask or think, but its according to the power that works within us. That power is Gods power, His Holy Spirit, Acts 1:8; but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you… NASB My question to you is, how much time are you spending in His Holy Spirit? How much time are you spending in His presence?

God Is Able and mountains will quake and flow down at His presence in your life.

What is the dictionary definition of love? Wikipedia says that Love is the emotion of strong affection and personal attachment.

What is the dictionary definition of love? Wikipedia says that Love is the emotion of strong affection and personal attachment. In philosophical context, love is a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection. In Christian context, love is not just a virtue, but the basis for all being, the Bible says, “God is love.” Wikipedia did a good job of describing love, our issue is we get it messed up because we focus to much or to little on the different aspects of love.

Yes – Love can be an emotion driven by strong affection and personal attachment towards another because there are different emotions involved with loving another person but love is not just an emotion.

Yes- love is a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection. Those who love should be kind, compassionate towards others but this still does not define love.

Love is defined by God. God is love, if Wikipedia wanted to be 100% accurate when defining love they could have just said it this way, “God is love, and whoever has him, has access to an abundance of love.”

Romans 13:10 says, “Love is the fulfillment of the law.” Meaning if you have love, or since the Bible says God is Love, so lets say it this way, if you have God, then you will have the means for fulfilling the law, or living within the parameters of the 10 commandments.

A lot of people say I can not live out those rules and regulations God places on us but to be honest if you have love in operation then you have everything you need to live out those rules. If you have love you wont want to murder, steal, or do anything that would harm or hurt anyone around you because you love. Make sense?

Love is the most powerful thing, why is that, because God is love.
